Abstract
We present a genome assembly from an individual Platichthys flesus (the European flounder; Chordata; Actinopteri; Pleuronectiformes; Pleuronectidae). The genome sequence is 597.1 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 24 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 17.52 kilobases in length.
