Abstract
We present a genome assembly from an individual female Cantharis nigra (a soldier beetle; Arthropoda; Insecta; Coleoptera; Cantharidae). The genome sequence is 397.8 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 7 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 17.81 kilobases in length.
