Abstract

The aim of this research was to obtain data and information on the genetic diversity of sandfish (Holothuria scabra) collected from East Nusa Tenggara (Papagarang village; Komodo-Labuan Bajo district; West Manggarai region); Central Kalimantan (Sungai bakau village and Teluk bogam village; Kumai district, West Kotawaringin region); Tanjung Pinang (Teluk Bakau village, Gunung Kijang district, Bintan region); East Lombok (Sekaroh village, Jerowaru district); Southeast Maluku (Ngilngof village, Little Kei Island); South Sulawesi (Lawallu village, Soppeng district, Barru region) and West Bali (Pejarakan village, Gerokgak district, Buleleng region). The results showed that the average range of heterozygotes by using SSR was between 0.067 – 0.683. The population of East Lombok and Tanjung Pinang have the nearest genetic distance with a value of 0.060. The longest genetic distance was the population of Southeast Maluku and East Nusa Tenggara with 0.578. From the dendrogram, we can see two big groups. First group consists of South Sulawesi, Southeast Maluku, and West Bali. The second group consist of East Lombok, Tanjung Pinang and East Nusa Tenggara.
