Abstract

The generalized Ohm's law for a partially ionized gas in the case when the gyro frequency exceeds the collision frequency is derived by consideration of the external force drifts of guiding centers. When the opposition to the electric drift comes from collisions with non-drifting neutral atoms, a chain of reactions develops, causing currents alternately in the direction of the electric field and in the direction of the drift. The currents form geometric series, which are summed.
