Abstract
The genus Sicaguttur Siddiqi, 1971 is redefined based on type material of S. sartum Siddiqi, 1971, Medalinema prabhae Baqri & Jana, 1980, M. indicum (Ali & Prabha, 1974) Baqri & Jana, 1980, M. coomansi Baqri & Jana, 1980 and S. longicaudatum Baqri & Jana, 1980, as well as on a new species S. hooperi from Ivory Coast. The genus Medalinema Baqri & Jana, 1980 is considered a junior synonym of Sicaguttur. S. indicum, S. longicaudatum and M. prabhae are considered as junior synonyms of S. sartum. S. hooperi n. sp. can be differentiated from S. sartum by its rounded and offset lip region, different shape of labial and post-labial sclerotization, much longer tail and common presence of males. It differs from S. coomansi in the shape of the lip region, presence of post-labial sclerotization and by the fully developed and functional anterior sexual branch in females. A key to the species is given.
