Abstract Van der Werff, H. (2017). The genera of Lauraceae in Madagascar with nomenclatural novelties in Cryptocarya. Candollea 72 : 323–328. In English, English and French abstracts. Two identification keys to the genera of Lauraceae in Madagascar based on or fruiting specimens are provided. For each genus diagnostic characters, estimates of species numbers, recent literature and additional notes are included. Eight species of Ravensara Sonn. are transferred to Cryptocarya R. Br., resulting in five new combinations and three new names. A lectotype is designated for Ravensara affinis Kostermans (≡ Cryptocarya petiolata van der Werff).
