Abstract

We show that the regularity and single-valuedness condition imposed on the gauge-invariant solutions of Hamilton systems allows describing the tunneling through the potential barrier from any quantal state. For separable Hamilton systems and nonlinear equations of motion the regularity and single-valuedness principle (RSVP) proposed earlier yields the total decay width which agrees with the WKB estimate.
