Abstract
High resolution gamma-spectrometry was applied to determine the 241Pu/ 239Pu isotopic ratios in plutonium bearing fuels. The photopeaks at 129, 148 and 208 keV were utilized. From the 241Pu/ 239Pu ratio, the integrated neutron flux and the burn-up can be calculated. The method has been tested by comparing the results obtained from uranium and plutonium ratios in a Pu/U fuel.
