Abstract

Intact gamma G globulin has been isolated from amniotic fluid. After 20 weeks of gestation, gamma globulin of a small molecular weight is found in amniotic fluid and is presumed to be derived from fetal urine. Three Fab-like fragments of gamma G globulin have been isolated from meconium. Amniotic fluid gamma G globulin and the electrophoretically slow Fab fragment of meconium gamma globulin neutralize poliovirus when maternal antibody titers against poliovirus are high.
