Abstract

AbstractIn this chapter we provide an exposition of the main results of time-frequency analysis of functions and distributions. We introduce some time-frequency representations, in particular the Gabor wave packet transform and the Wigner distribution, along with their fundamental properties. Function spaces characterized by the phase-space behaviour of their members (such as modulation and Wiener amalgam spaces) are accordingly discussed.
