Abstract

Business on the futures market is an exceptionally significant segment of a company's business in all developed countries. Futures markets enable protection against basic business risks and to enhance one's own competitive advantage. Companies in lesser developed countries are aware of these facts, they too are directing their performance towards the international market and for this reason in particular, the use of futures markets has expanded exceptionally on the global scene in the past twenty years. To what measure are companies in Croatia aware of these facts; the level of knowledge of futures markets amongst Croatian managers; what strategies are they using for futures markets; are just some of the questions dealt with in this paper, based on a conducted survey.
