Abstract

Abstract Three global issues are considered of paramount importance in determining what should be the future of medicine: population growth (with the concomitant issues of ageing, unemployment, and food shortages); energy supplies; and nuclear weapons. Yet the future practice of medicine may lie through adopting a community-oriented approach, as against adopting more high-technology methods.
