Abstract
SUMMARY It is considered that the establishment of more Branches and the formation of subject groups would make the Institute more effective in its prime objectives of promoting high educational standards, sympathetic forestry legislation, adequate finance, and good public relations. The activities of the Branches already established have been able to cover these objectives to varying degrees. As well, Branch meetings have been found to be an excellent means for country members to participate in Institute affairs and members have also benefited by the presence of those in allied occupations. The provision of clauses in the Articles of Association for legal status for Branches and subject groups is recommended and Articles necessary to achieve this end are drawn up in draft form.
