Abstract

The articles in this issue examine the likely future trajectory of Russia's political system. They focus on the impact of the 2008-9 economic crisis on the stability and longevity of Russia's political system. Some of the authors argue that inefficiencies exposed by this crisis will lead to a rapid transformation of the system, while others believe that the system will continue in more or less its present form for the foreseeable future.
