S214-S223 The Future of Political Biography BEN PIMLOTT, BEN PIMLOTT (1945–2004) was an outstanding and prolific historian, biographer and public intellectual, author of major studies of Hugh Dalton and Harold Wilson, commentator in the press, editor, campaigner and Fabian. He was Warden of Goldsmith College at the time of his death. The author is Professor of Politics and Contemporary History at Birkbeck College, London. This article is based on his inaugural lecture.
