Former Secretary of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland, and now Professor of Architecture at Duncan of Jordanstone, Charles McKean describes his perspective on the collecting of Scottish architects' papers in recent years and poses a question for the future: should we collect only to preserve Scotland's architectural culture, or should we aim to influence contemporary architectural debate?
