Abstract
The commandant of the US Marine Corps unveiled a planning guidance in 2019 that would radically reshape how the United States conducts amphibious warfare. Whether feasible or not, this proposal arrived at a time when the armed forces in many countries globally are rethinking the role of amphibious operations in their respective arsenals.
