Abstract
The Fusion Materials Irradiation Test (FMIT) Facility will fulfill a key role in the development of fusion power systems. The need for materials irradiation technology for neutron energies and fluences which are uniquely achievable in FMIT has been confirmed through international review. The facility design and supportive R&D base establish significant confidence that the facility will fulfill its specified materials research and development function.
