Abstract
Data obtained from the oxidation-reduction reactions of some metal cations in aqueous solutions, Me n+ I + Me z+ II → Me (n + 1)+ I + Me (z−1)+ II can give valuable indications that such redox couples also operate in metal oxide catalysts such as Bi 2MoO 6 and Fe 2(MoO 4) 3 and in multicomponent molybdate catalysts such as Fe-Bi molybdates and Co-Fe-Bi molybdates.
