Abstract

The author regularises a Yang-Mills theory coupled to matter by higher covariant derivatives (HCD) supplemented by dimensional regularisation. Details of its renormalisation are given. The value of the one-loop beta function is computed and is found to agree with that of other regularisation schemes. The author shows to all orders that the beta function is determined by the interactions of the original unregularised theory. The consequences that these results have for other regularisation schemes employing HCD are also discussed.
