Abstract

The interactions acting on a given proton in ferroelectrics with hydrogen bonds, such as potassium dihydrogen phosphate, are introduced. Each proton is represented by a fictitious spin S = 1 2 reflecting the fact that the proton moves in a double minimum potential well. Then the molecular field in which the fictitious spins move was formulated. To describe the collective motion of protons the frequency spectrum was found at low temperatures using the method of Morri and Kawasaki. Also, a few predictions concerning the frequency in the neighbourhood of the Curie temperature are given. The experimental data are in agreement with the developed model.
