The French and Italian Communist parties - a critical review of the literature designing the study - a comparative framework based on two municipal case studies of the PCF and the PCI cultural policy-making in French and Italian municipalities (c.1960-c.1980) the cultural policies of the French and Italian Communist parties - a comparative, strategic framework ideology and clientelism in the cultural policy of the PCF in Ivry-sur-Seine (c.1965-c.1985) the cultural policy of the PCI in Reggion Emilia (c.1960-c.1980) - a pragmatic, societal approach to the provision of public amenities and services revisiting the contrast between the PCF and PCI - the prevalence of international factors.
