Abstract

Both Confucianism and Taoism have been developed from the hundred schools of thought in the ancient Chinese tradition. They are considered the prominent traditions among the other schools. Even today the underneath of the Chinese tradition it is possible to find the foundations of these teachings. It is required to get a complete understanding of both Taoism and Confucianism in order to understand the foundations of Chinese philosophy. The objectives of this paper are to analyze and compare Taoism and Confucianism in order to extract its commonalities and differences. Textual analysis method has been used in this study.
