Abstract

Using an analogy with electrostatic problems, the problem of spatial (three-dimensional) distribution of the electric area of radiation pulses—which is defined as a time integral of the electric field strength—generated upon motion of electric charges in a vacuum is solved in the general form. The possibility of formation of unipolar radiation pulses the main polarization component of which does not change its sign within the pulse is demonstrated.
