Abstract

Among the subjects taught in the first grade, reading occupies a special place. Indeed, learning to read (and to write) "is, above all, a special, practical propaedeutic for all other subjects. The pupil possesses the tool needed to acquire nonlinguistic knowledge only once he has learned to read and write" [5. P. 165]. In other words, reading is an important kind of speech activity that, initially, is only a subject to be learned, but then becomes a tool of learning and development.
