Abstract

The data obtained in this experimental study are of two kinds: (a) They provide detailed information on the deposition of calcium-sulfate scale on a heated cylinder in crossflow under conditions of constant heat flux; and (b) they demonstrate that acoustically induced cavitation can remove deposits of calcium-sulfate scale from heated surfaces.
