Abstract
Aim: The major aim of this study was to estimate the absolute risk of stroke in a large group of hypertensive patients who were representative of the real population of patients with arterial hypertension encountered in doctors in general practice. The secondary aim was the clinical identification of modifiable cardiovascular risk factors in the same population.
