Abstract

The time reversal focusing performance of a target source deployed at different depths in shallow water waveguide is investigated by normal mode model and numerical simulations. It is observed that the time reversal focusing intensity is the most strong when the target is deployed at low velocity area. The physical mechanism of these phenomena could be explained by the normal mode model according to the sound intensity distribution activated by the target source at different depths. So, it could be concluded that the time reversal focusing performance of the target source deployed at the lower layer with low velocity area is better than that of source at other depths.
