Abstract
With the opportunity of its 20th anniversary, the European Lung Cancer Working Party organised a conference specifically dedicated to cooperative research. The main collaborative groups, identified by a literature search of randomised trials conducted on lung cancer patients, were invited (Table 1). They have presented their programme in poster form and participated in round table discussions. Original communications were also the subjects of posters and oral presentations. Abstracts of all these interventions are enclosed to the present summary of the Conference. More than 250 registrants coming from Europe, America and Asia participated to the eight sessions. The second Conference has been planned for 8–9 March 2002 in Brussels.
