Abstract

SummaryThe observation and collection of a Baird's Sandpiper at Lauderdale near Hobart, Tasmania, are described and field notes are given. The bird's known distribution is stated and the inference of its occurrence in Australia is discussed. A number of points which should prove helpful in the field- identification of Baird's Sandpiper are listed.
