Abstract

Carbonylation of the diphenylphosphinoacetylide complex Ru5(µ5-C2PPh2)(µ-PPh2)(CO)15, (2), results in cleavage of the P–CC bond and formation of Ru4(µ4-η1,η2-C2)(µ-PPh2)2(CO)12, (3), shown by an X-ray structure to contain the novel η1,η2-acetylide dianion bridging two Ru2(µ-PPh2)(CO)6 units.
