The First Breeding Record of the Bulwer's Petrel Butweria bulwerii in Miyazaki Prefecture

Abstract

A nest and an egg of the Bulwer's Petrel was identified in Birou Island (32°28′N, 131°44′E), located at the northern coast of Miyazaki Prefecture, on 5 September 1998. This is the first evidence of breeding of this species in Miyazaki Prefecture. The nest and the egg was found in a crevice of a rock.
