SummaryThis paper reports the characteristics of the first 100 drug users admitted to a London based residential treatment program for former narcotic addicts. Residents tended to be similar to those found in other treatment settings with the typical resident being between 19 and 29 years of age, being unmarried, having a criminal record and a well established history of opiate use.
