Abstract
The essay explores to what extent a concept of ‘sin’ is dependent on the sinner possessing conscious intelligence; whether conscious intelligence can be the product of evolution; whether the driving force of evolution contributes to notions of sin; and how this is overcome by the Atonement. It suggests that our participation in the re-birth from space-time to eternity may be through a further evolution.
