Abstract

With this article, Psychiatric News launches a new column in which a work of fiction that may be of interest to psychiatrists is reviewed. The author became a book reviewer because of her curiosity about the dynamic factors that contribute to a person's motivations, thoughts, and behavior. And as a graduate of Trinity College in Dublin, she drew inspiration from the school's literary scholars, including James Joyce, John Butler Yeats, and Oscar Wilde.
