Abstract

In December 1972, the multinational Soviet country will observe a great holiday: the fiftieth anniversary of the formation of the USSR. In terms of its political significance and social and economic consequences, the formation of the USSR is a significant milestone in the centuries-old history of our motherland. The decree of the Central Committee of the CPSU "On Preparations for the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Formation of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics" states: "The Soviet Union is the personification of the relations of unity and friendship existing between free peoples without precedent in history. This friendship is one of the greatest attainments of socialism; it is the mighty, driving force of Soviet society, the inexhaustible source of creativity for the people of all the nationalities in the USSR working toward the same noblest goal: the building of communism."
