Abstract
AbstractThe reaction between ferric hydroxide and hydrazine was used to initiate the solution polymerization of methyl methacrylate. Polymerization occurs readily at pH > 6, over a wide range of iron concentration and of temperature. The initiation reaction appears to be of heterogeneous nature, like those in similar metal hydroxide/hydrazine systems.
