Abstract
This paper is written in response to calls from feminist scholars to address potential biases against women in theories of family therapy. Findings from studies offemale development are summarized and integrated into an expanded model of Bowen's family systems theory. A case example comparing the expanded model with a traditional application of Bowen's theory is included.
