Abstract

The article describes the possibilities of using electrical discharge machining for the manufacture of cylindrical gears. The developed method of calculating the coordinates of the reference points of the trajectory of the wire electrode-tool provides shaping of the surfaces of the teeth of the involute wheels in a form similar to that obtained by the edge tool using the generating method. The description of a software tool for automating the technological preparation of production of gears, implemented on a electrical discharge machine when processing blanks from various materials.
