Abstract

Plasmapheresed and nontreated rabbits were injected with tritiated albumin intravenously. Analysis of serum proteins and distribution of tritium were studied before and after injection.1) More than 99% of tritiated albumin has disappeared from plasma at the short time interval after the injection. After this rapid diminution, the level of tritium has decreased gradually.2) Level of tritium found per gram of globulin was 8-80 times more than that of albumin right after the injection. Radio activity of tvi tium Per gram of nitrogen was higher innonprotein nitvcgen than in albumin.3) With increasing in time after the injection, the specific activity of tritium globulin has decreased rapidly and at 6-24 hours after the injection the level of tritium per gram of globulin was about the same to that of albumin.4) From the above data, injected albumin seems to be absorbed into the tissues and the part of tritium may be incorporated into globulin.
