Abstract

In the paper "The Far-Infrared Morphology of the Double-ringed Galaxy NGC 4736 (M94): A Ring Surrounding an Extended Nucleus" by Beverly J. Smith, D. F. Lester, P. M. Harvey, and R. W. Pogge (ApJ, 373,66 [1991]), there was an error in Figures 6a and 6b. The "synthetic Hα + [N II] scan," created to compare the distribution of the 100 micron emission in NGC 4736 with that of the observed ionized gas, was made at the wrong position angle across the galaxy. This caused the positions of the ring Hα + [N II] peaks to be shifted ~5"-8" from the true positions. The revised figures are shown here. These figures show a closer positional agreement between the FIR and Hα emission in the ring than the original figures did. This change in no way affects the text of the paper or the conclusions.
