Abstract
Construction of adequate probabilistic models is nowadays an important issue in examining the reliability of technical systems. Presented herein is the failure time random variable modelling in applications to real technical systems. A linear regression model is discussed and its role in creating Weibull's proportional hazards model of technical systems is shown.
