Abstract
Factory buzzers are a part of the glorious history of our country. Nowadays their use is a great rarity. It is noted that among a small number of metallurgical enterprises, as well as many decades ago, the buzzer of the Donetsk Metallurgical Plant (DMP) works. The facts about the origin of the buzzer of DMP, its use practically without interrup-tion during 150 years were provided. With the use of a sound analyzer Sonic Visualiser the characteristic sound spec-trum of the buzzer of DMP and the spectra of other metallurgical plants’ buzzers were determined. The unique features of each of the preserved buzzers are shown. The results of the research allow understanding the principles of working of these buzzers and provide possibility of their recreating in the future
