Abstract

Many problems of 3D stereoscopic display have not been solved, such as vertical resolution, horizontal resolution, viewing angle and brightness. Moreover, it is not convenient for users to wear a device or helmet as using stereoscopic display. These years, autostereoscopic displays can present 3D stereoscpic images to the viewer without wearing glasses or any device. However, after long-time of using the autostereoscopic display, users complained about having dizziness, vomiting and uncomfortable phenomenon. “Crosstalk” is probably one of the most annoying distortions in 3D displays and the main resource of visual fatigue. In order to understand the level of “crosstalk” in different factors, the research will analyze the factors related to crosstalk through ergonomics evaluations in autostereoscopic displays, including subjective evaluation for questionnaire and the innovative method - Simulation of Crosstalk. The result of this research revealed that two types of the evaluation methods had great explanatory ability. It is demonstrated that the database for the stereoscopic image quality will be build, and may provide the industries of 3D display with critical references.
