Abstract

Abstract A recent study has shown the facilitating effects of a mnemonic strategy on face-name learning in learning disabled adults. The present study extends these findings by replicating the original results and showing that learning disabled subjects can also utilise mnemonic strategies in foreign vocabulary acquisition. The results also show that providing an actual mnemonic link results in superior performance to merely instructing subjects on the use of visual imagery.
