Abstract

Hong Kong has for some time led the way in deploying identification technologies. Earlier this year, NEC Corporation delivered an immigration control system to the country's immigration office that included biometric face recognition technology. Richard Farnworth, general manager, Enterprise Solutions, NEC (UK) Ltd explains that what is most interesting about this project is that it can read passengers' faces – even when they are in a vehicle. He also examines the progress being made elsewhere.
