Abstract
Methods are described for preparing the following “fake” specimens for laboratory studies: red blood cells deficient in glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, red blood cells that react as paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria cells, and spinal fluid positive for blood cell counts. The specimens are useful as teaching tools for groups of students and as quality control samples.
