Abstract
Abstract In this article, it is claimed that the current climate emergency requires that we take seriously a “haptic” approach to nature as found in Alfred North Whitehead and the romantic poets (especially William Blake and William Wordsworth) in contrast to the “optic” approach that has dominated modern thinking.
