Abstract

AbstractThe external morphology of the egg and five nymphal instars of Scolypopa australis are described fully for the first time. The adult is redescribed. The morphological features which change from instar to instar are discussed and used in a key to separate the adults and five nymphal instars. Size measurements, as well as the arrangement of sensory pits, and the structure of tarsi, hind legs and abdomen, provide useful characters for separation of instars.
