Abstract

The author pays special attention to the global nature of the external debt problem which becomes one of the most acute financial and economic problems. In the author’s opinion, a rapid growth of the majority of the countries’ external debt may result in a series of sovereign external debt defaults, which will trigger a new and stronger global financial and economic crisis.
